Public notice: Southland reorganisation investigation – amended investigation process

In October 2025 the Local Government Commission adopted a process for its investigation into the reorganisation of local government in Southland, in accordance with clause 7, Schedule 3 of the Local Government Act 2002.

On 19 February 2026 the Commission amended the process for its investigation into the reorganisation of local government in Southland, to alter the investigation timeline.
