The Local Government Commission was requested by the Minister of Local Government to consider and report on the Chatham Islands Council's Draft Request for Proposal for the delivery of regional council services and the Council's decision on the preferred tender.

Tauranga City Council

The Tauranga District Council applied to the Local Government Commission to be called a city council.
