Public Notice: Decision on the representation arrangements for the election of the Nelson City Council to be held on 8 October 2022

In accordance with section 19R of the Local Electoral Act 2001, the Local Government Commission has determined the representation arrangements for the election of the Nelson City Council to be held on 8 October 2022.

In order to provide effective representation of communities of interest and fair representation for electors of Nelson City, the Commission has determined that:

The Council will comprise a mayor and 12 councillors elected as follows:

Ward

Councillors

Nelson City as a whole

Whakatū Māori Ward

Central General Ward

Stoke-Tāhunanui General Ward

There will be no community boards.

The Commission’s decision upholds the council’s decision.
