Public Notice: Decision on the representation arrangements for the election of the Kapiti Coast District Council to be held on 8 October 2022

In accordance with section 19R of the Local Electoral Act 2001, the Local Government Commission has determined the representation arrangements for the election of the Kapiti Coast District Council to be held on 8 October 2022.

In order to provide effective representation of communities of interest and fair representation for electors of Kapiti Coast District, the Commission has determined that:

The Council will comprise a mayor and ten councillors elected as follows:

The Commission’s decision differs from the Council’s proposal by:

  • Altering the boundary between the Ōtaki and Waikanae Wards
  • Altering the boundary between the Paraparaumu and Paekākāriki-Raumati Wards
  • Altering the eastern boundary of the Paekākāriki-Raumati Ward
  • Altering the areas of the five Communities
