Public Notice: Decision on the representation arrangements for the election of the Taranaki Regional Council to be held on 8 October 2022

In accordance with section 19R of the Local Electoral Act 2001, the Local Government Commission has determined the representation arrangements for the election of the Taranaki Regional Council to be held on 8 October 2022.

In order to provide effective representation of communities of interest and fair representation for electors of Taranaki Region, the Commission has determined that:

The Commission’s decision differs from the Council’s proposal:

• The boundaries of the North Taranaki General Constituency and New Plymouth General Constituency have been adjusted to coincide with territorial authority ward boundaries.
