Public Notice: Decision on the representation arrangements for the election of the Matamata-Piako District Council to be held on 8 October 2022

In accordance with section 19R of the Local Electoral Act 2001, the Local Government Commission has determined the representation arrangements for the election of the Matamata-Piako District Council to be held on 8 October 2022.

In order to provide effective representation of communities of interest and fair representation for electors of Matamata-Piako District, the Commission has determined that:

The Council will comprise a mayor and 12 councillors elected as follows:

Ward

Councillors

Te Toa Horopū ā Matamata-Piako Māori Ward

Matamata General Ward

Morrinsville General Ward

4

Te Aroha General Ward

3

There will be no community boards.

The Commission’s decision upholds the council’s decision.
