I20 November 2009 The Local Government Commission has released its proposals on the boundaries and representation arrangements for the new Auckland Council.

Media Release 37K 1 June 2005 The Minister of Local Government has announced the appointment of two new members of the Local Government Commission. Gwen Bull and Sue Piper have been appointed as members of the Commission, with terms of appointment that expire on 30 June 2008. They replace Linda Constable and Kerry Marshall, whose terms of appointment expired on 30 June 2004. Grant Kirby continues as Chairman of the Commission. His term of appointment expires on 30 June 2005. Gwen Bull was a member of the Auckland Regional Council from 1995 to 2004, and the Council’s Chairperson from 2002 to 2004. She also chaired the Auckland Regional Growth Forum between 2002 and 2004. Sue Piper is Executive Director of the Wellington Community Foundation and a member of the board of Quotable Value New Zealand. She was a member of the Wellington City Council from 1995 to 2004, and has been a member of the National Council of Local Government New Zealand. Between 1989 and 1992 she was President of the New Zealand Public Service Association.
