Still time for West Coast people to have their say on councils

Date: 01 Jul 2016

There’s still time to have your say on councils on the West Coast with the Local Government Commission questionnaire deadline being Friday 8 July.

Over 500 questionnaires have been returned to the Commission since the end of May.

Leaflets with freepost questionnaires are available from local libraries, council offices and i-Sites.  Alternatively, an online version is available on the Local Government Commission website www.lgc.govt.nz.

“We’ve had a really good response from people up and down the West Coast who have attended drop-in sessions, stakeholder meetings and community workshops in seven locations from Karamea in the north to Haast in the south.

“There have been lots of ideas and views put forward.  Once the July 8 deadline has passed, the Commission will collate all the feedback and let the public know what it says in August,” said Janie Annear, the Local Government Commissioner.
